Burnaby.Network is a Canadian marketing and business consulting service that helps Burnaby businesses build referral partnerships. Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it as part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, run from Vancouver, BC.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

Burnaby.Network helps owners of Burnaby trades, home-service firms and local businesses build referral partnerships that are chosen deliberately, written down, disclosed to customers and measured. We are a marketing and business consulting service. We don't install, repair or service anything, we don't sell leads and we don't run a membership network.

The company

Burnaby.Network is one brand inside the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. The group is Canadian, with its head office in Vancouver, British Columbia, so Burnaby referral clients are working with a firm from the next municipality over, though the group's clients are spread across Canada.

  • Sedighi.ca is Ali's own consulting company for growth, marketing and technology, and the home of the brands that serve trades. Trades.Agency, our parent brand, is one of its brands, alongside HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Conv.ca and BusinessConsulting.ca.
  • SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone) handles the group's strategy, AI and revenue acceleration consulting in Canada; Ali is its Founder & Managing Partner, and it is the part of the group that takes on wider strategy questions beyond referral and marketing work.

For trades and home-service businesses, our parent brand is Trades.Agency, whose published plans and terms apply to work done through this site. See pricing for the details.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali Sedighi leads Burnaby.Network. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has more than 17 years of experience in marketing, starting in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency.

He also founded Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca, and is Founder & Managing Partner of SAZ.ca. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built 150+ live HVAC websites, including GasBoilers.ca, CanroHeat.ca and BCWide.ca. He lives and works in Vancouver.

Why does that background matter for referral work? Because a referral relationship is a small marketing system: a source, a message, a hand-off, a conversion and a record. Ali's work across hundreds of trade websites is, at heart, the same discipline of finding where customers come from and removing the places they drop off.

How we work

Five principles guide every engagement:

  1. The relationship belongs to you. We help you choose, prepare and track, but partnerships are between two owners. We never stand in the middle.
  2. Everything important is written. Scope, response times, any fee, disclosure and exit go on paper, and a lawyer reviews anything binding. See written terms.
  3. Customers are told. If a recommendation comes with a business connection, the customer hears about it before deciding.
  4. No link schemes. Partnerships are judged by referred jobs, never by search rankings, and we don't arrange link swaps.
  5. Numbers decide. Each relationship is reviewed with a quarterly scorecard, not by how friendly it feels.

Who we work with, and who we don't

We work with non-HVAC trades and local businesses in Burnaby: painters, flooring and tile crews, electricians, plumbers, renovators, cleaners, movers, landscapers, designers, organisers, and the shops and service firms that sit around them. HVAC and heating companies are served by the group's HVAC.Agency brand instead.

We may not be the right fit if:

  • most of your work comes from emergency calls from strangers, where local search matters more
  • you want a list of names handed to you rather than relationships you build yourself
  • you want to pay partners in ways you'd rather customers didn't know about

What a first engagement looks like

Most owners start with a free 30-minute conversation. If it makes sense to continue, the first month is spent on your job history, your current referral sources and a shortlist of partner types. By the end of month two, most clients have at least one written agreement in progress and a tracking field in place. From there the work settles into a steady monthly and quarterly rhythm, and you decide at each review whether it is still worth doing.

Our positioning, plainly

Burnaby.Network is a digital marketing and business consulting service for trades and local businesses. We are not a contractor, not a lead seller, not a law firm and not a business association. We help you build and run referral partnerships, and we help with the marketing that supports them.

If that sounds right, read the services overview, look at the results from our HVAC work, or get in touch through the contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Burnaby.Network?

The Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies owns it; the group is Canadian and its head office is in Vancouver, BC. Its parent brand for trades work is Trades.Agency, and Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it.

Do you have staff in Burnaby?

We don't have a Burnaby office. The group is based in Vancouver, a short drive away. Consultations happen in person or by video call, and the rest of the work by phone, text, email and shared documents.

How are you paid?

Through the plan you choose, at the published price, with the terms set out in writing before work starts. Your referral arrangements are agreements between you and your partners.

Why are your case studies about HVAC?

The group's published results come from its HVAC portfolio, where Ali has built 150+ live websites. We show them as results from our HVAC work, as evidence of method, not as results in your trade.
