Results from our HVAC work, and what they mean for referral partnerships

Our published case studies come from the group's HVAC portfolio, not from referral programs in other trades. They show the method: building on existing relationships, tracking every source and measuring return.

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

These results come from our HVAC work, and we present them that way on purpose. We don't have published case studies for referral programs in painting, cleaning or flooring, and we won't invent any. What these HVAC results show is the method we apply here: build on an existing business relationship, record every source, and judge the work by what it returns.

GasBoilers.ca: a specialist offer built on an existing company

GasBoilers.ca is a gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat. Today that division serves 26+ BC communities, and customers have given it 5.0★ from 76+ Google reviews, which is the kind of trust a new offer borrows from a parent company's name.

What it shows: a new, specialist offer can grow faster when it sits on the trust of an existing business rather than starting from nothing. That is the core idea of a referral partnership. Two businesses that already have customer trust can lend it to each other, carefully and openly.

What transfers to you: when you approach a partner, offer something that extends what they already do for their customers, rather than asking for a favour. The relationship should make their service look more complete.

BCWide.ca: 3× leads in 90 days

BCWide.ca reached 3× leads in 90 days.

What it shows: visible results can arrive within a quarter when the basics are fixed in the right order and measured from the start.

What transfers to you: a 90-day review is a sensible first checkpoint for a referral program too. One quarter is enough to see whether a partner sends anything at all, and our partner scorecards are built on that rhythm.

CanroHeat.ca: 250% lead growth

CanroHeat.ca achieved 250% lead growth.

What it shows: enquiries can grow sharply when a company is clear about exactly what it offers and to whom, so the right customers recognise themselves.

What transfers to you: partners worry that referring work away will cost them customers. With a clearly defined scope, each business is free to be known for what it does best, and handing on the rest stops feeling like a loss. That is why scope is the first clause in our written referral terms.

HVACDeal.ca: 500+ leads at 12:1 ROI

HVACDeal.ca generated 500+ leads at a 12:1 return on investment.

What it shows: return on investment is measurable when every enquiry is tied to a source and every source to a cost.

What transfers to you: if you pay a referral fee or thank-you, you can calculate the same ratio per partner. A $150 thank-you on a job that earns $1,100 in gross margin returns more than 7 to 1. Our referral fee guide shows the full calculation.

What these results don't show

Honesty matters more than polish here, so a few limits:

  • These are HVAC marketing results, mostly from websites, search and ads, not from referral programs.
  • They come from businesses with their own budgets, markets and seasons; yours will differ.
  • They don't tell you how a particular Burnaby partnership will perform. Only your own record will.

Reading a case study critically

Any case study, ours included, deserves a few questions before you let it influence a decision. Ask what was measured, over what period, and compared with what starting point. Ask whether the client site is live so you can look at it yourself; every one linked on this page is. And ask what the result does not include, such as the owner's own effort, seasonality or price changes.

Apply the same scepticism to referral programs you hear about from other owners. A friend who says a partner "sends loads of work" may be counting enquiries rather than paid jobs. Your own record is the only number worth trusting.

How we'll measure your results

For referral work we report the numbers that matter to an owner:

Measure What it tells you
Active partners How many relationships sent at least one enquiry this quarter
Referred enquiries Volume, by partner
Win rate Share of referred enquiries that became jobs
Referred revenue Total job value from partner referrals
Cost per referred job Any fee or thank-you divided by jobs won
Referrals sent What you gave back to each partner

See the services that produce these numbers, or contact us to talk about your own starting point.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have case studies for referral partnerships in my trade?

Not published ones. Our public case studies are results from our HVAC work. We show them because the method transfers, and we won't invent results for other trades.

Can you promise similar numbers for my business?

No. Nobody honest can promise lead or revenue figures. What we can promise is a clear plan, written terms and a record that shows you exactly what each relationship produces.

Where can I read the full case studies?

The complete list is on HVAC.Agency's case studies page, and each client site is live and linked here so you can look for yourself.
